Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Loftus Guido, 84, of Savoy passed away Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2025) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born Feb. 19, 1940. She was raised on a farm outside of Ivesdale, the daughter of John M. and Cecilia M. Dixon Loftus. She attended St. Joseph Catholic schools in Ivesdale, Sacred Heart Academy in Springfield and Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in South Bend, Ind. At St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago, she met Robert Guido. They were married Oct. 28, 1961, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Chicago.
Kathy is survived by her son Jon (Karen) Guido of Champaign, daughter Michelle (Herb) Henson of Flora, son Tony (Pat) Guido of Columbia City, Ind., and son Bobby (Stacie) Guido of Savoy.
Surviving grandchildren are Nic (Kaylyn Engelhardt) Parker (Guido), Allysa (Aaron Duffield) Rogers, Anna (Aaron) Maloy, George (Allison) Guido, Katie Guido (Andy) Oberley, Nate Guido and Abby Guido.
Great-grandchildren are Owen and Beau Rogers, Addisyn and Andi Maloy, Ethan Oberley, Henry and Zoey Guido and Elizabeth Hahlen.
Kathleen's husband, Bob Guido, preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2011. Also, her parents, sister Sheila and twin brothers at birth.
She was member of the Twin City Garden Club. She loved flowers, prairie plants and animals. She was also a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She adored her Irish heritage, family and friends. If she was not home, she might be found around town in a convertible or ocean side in Florida.
She hopes to join her loved ones in a sky-blue-pink heaven.
The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, followed by a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Champaign. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ivesdale.
