Janet Hall

   Janet G. Hall, age 55, of Clay City, IL passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at her home in Clay City.

   Janet was born July 21, 1958 in Olney, IL to Darrel and Melba (Powers) Britton.  She married Donnie Hall on December 17, 1977 in Clay City.  Janet enjoyed a 35 year nursing career, the last 27 years of which were dedicated to Clay County Hospital where she loved her job and enjoyed helping people.  Janet worked throughout the hospital in various departments including E.R., surgery, and the infusion clinic and was the first recipient of the “Spirit of Nursing” award given by the hospital.  She was a member of Community Southern Baptist Church, participated in the Sisters by Heart Bible Study, volunteered as a nurse at the Baptist Church Camp for several years, and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years.  Janet had a free spirit, loved family gatherings, and enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews places.  Since Wyatt was born, he became her world.  Janet also enjoyed traveling with family and friends and going on Harley rides with Donnie.

   She is survived by her husband: Donnie Hall of Clay City; parents: Darrel and Melba Britton of Clay City; 2 daughters: Dawn M. Hall Erwin (Rod Franklin) of Flora and Stephanie Horn (Shane) of Carterville; 2 brothers: Faron Britton of Claremont and Alan Britton (Renee) of Orlando, FL; sister: Sandra Meyer (Allen) of Kell; grandson: Wyatt Erwin; mother-in-law: Iris Charlene Hall of Clay City; sister-in-law: Barbara Pulley of Clay City; along with several special friends and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents (Guy and Wanda Britton and Aaron and Mae Powers), and father-in-law (Phillip R. Hall).

   The funeral service for Janet Hall will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wyatt Erwin Education Fund c/o Clay City Banking Company.
