Tim Dawkins, age 46, of Clay City, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Tim was born on October 5, 1967 in Olney, Illinois to Glen Edward and Delores (Goodman) Dawkins. He married Charman Fulton on February 20, 1993 at the Clay City Baptist Church in Clay City. He was a truck driver for Kemper Brothers. Tim took pride in his work, enjoyed fishing, was a St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Cardinals fan, and loved his family, kids, and grandkids. He was often outspoken, telling you “just how it was.”
He is survived by his wife: Charman Dawkins of Clay City; mother: Delores Sapp of Clay City; 2 sons: Chris Dawkins (Ashley) of Clay City, Kyle Dawkins (Kay Welch) of Flora; 3 grandchildren: Azure Dawkins, Koby Dawkins, and Karsyn Dawkins; 2 brothers: Ed Dawkins (Jill) of Louisville, Kevin Dawkins (Cheryl) of Virginia; 2 sisters: Brenda McDonald (Dan) of Altamont, Janna Snyder (Joe) of Flat Rock; in-laws: Barb Krantz (Ken), Jerry Fulton, and Shirley Byrd; 2 uncles: Jack Dawkins of Clay City, Frank Goodman Jr. (Judy) of Flora; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Glen Dawkins and companion Delta Jean Ferguson, and his step-father Lyman Sapp.
The funeral service for Tim Dawkins will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with interment following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
