Patty Lewis

Jan 13th, 1933 - Feb 19th, 2014

Patty L. Lewis, age 81, of Flora, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Patty was born January 13, 1933 in Clay County to William Carl and Delorus (Allen) Greenwood.  She married Lowell A. Lewis on April 21, 1951 in Flora.  He preceded her in death on February 25, 2004.  During her life, Patty worked at International Shoe Company, was secretary for Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District and retired from U.S.D.A.  She was also a hairdresser and actively supported the family’s White’s Metal Detector Dealership, enjoying metal detecting together with Lowell.  Patty had been a member of Bethlehem Church.  She and Lowell enjoyed camping and she also looked forward to attending the Class of 1950 reunions.  Because family was important to Patty, she never missed a birthday party or 4-H Horse Show, and was always involved in PTA and other school activities.  She always enjoyed her time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

She is survived by her children: Steven Lewis (significant other Connie Kuhlig) of Flora, Karen Lewis of Springfield, Missouri, and Connie (Brad) Collison of Billings, MO; 5 grandchildren: Carl “C.J.” Hawn, Libbi (Dan) Fearday, Abby (Travis) Koester, Kyle Collison, and Brooke Collison; 8 great-grandchildren: Shelby, Cash, Cohlson Lowell, Maezie, Lillie, Ruby, Hadley, and Alyssa; along with Doug and Tina Greenwood and other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother (Arlen Dale Greenwood), grandson-in-law (Jeff Veteto), and a nephew (Billy Dale Greenwood).

The funeral service for Patty Lewis will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Floral Garden of Memories, Flora.  Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.  Memorial donations may be given to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and will be accepted at the funeral home.
