Mary Edmiston
Feb 8th, 1930 - Sep 13th, 2014Mary Magdalene “Maggie” (Blankenship) Edmiston, age 84, of Chandler, Arizona, and formerly of Flora, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Sunset Assisted Living in Chandler.
She was born in Flora on February 8, 1930, to parents Alexius and Ruth (Hadden) Blankenship.
Maggie was a resident of Chandler, Arizona since 1992 after retiring from the City of Orange, California. She was a supervisor for Community/Planning- Building Division. Ill health forced her to retire.
In 1949 she married Bill Edmiston and they were the parents to a son, Kevin A. Edmiston and resided in Flora for many years.
Maggie was kind, loyal, loving, and always willing to assist others. Maggie enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, and collecting angels. She attended Flora schools and was employed by District 35 for several years, and had been a member of First Christian Church in Flora.
Maggie is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Denise; and a grandson, Robert. Also, surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Bill; and sisters Betty and Dora.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora where inurnment will follow.
