Sep 11th, 1917 - Sep 20th, 2014Mildred Dorothy Purdue, age 97, formerly of Flora, Illinois passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Breese Nursing Home in Breese, Illinois.
Mildred was born September 11, 1917 in Carlyle, Illinois to John and Dora (Brown) Jannett. She married Clyde “Junior” Purdue in 1947 in Cornith, Mississippi. He preceded her in death in 1983. Mildred was past owner/operator of Garden City Grocery and Flora Appliance Store, and was a former member of First Christian Church of Flora.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
A funeral service for Mildred Purdue will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
