Eunice “Rae” Plumlee, age 81, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014, at her home in Flora.
Rae was born February 6, 1933, in Bridgeport, the daughter of Chester E. and Barbara E. (Rayl) Armitage. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” E. Plumlee on June 1, 1951, in Flora. He preceded her in death November 20, 1997. Rae worked with Bill in the office of Golden Rule Insurance. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Rae had a great love for family that went far beyond the realms of her own flesh and blood. She never turned a kid away and was always there to help in any way she could. Her house was always filled with kids and laughter. Rae loved to have a good time and her terrific sense of humor kept everyone laughing.
Rae is survived by a son: Mike Plumlee of Flora; 3 daughters: Denise (Larry) Tadlock of Flora, Lisa (Roger) Colman of Fort Pierce, FL, and Shannon (Neil) Weidner formerly of Louisville; 7 grandchildren: Courtney (Aaron) Wyman, Corey (Marsha) Tadlock, Kelly (Alex) Courtright, Clayton Plumlee, Carly (Zach) Courtright, Caitlin Tadlock, and Chloe Pearce; 7 great grandchildren: Baylee Wilkins, Alexis Bissey, Imani Clark, Adora Clark, Clifton McGee, Ellie Tadlock, and Ava Wyman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A funeral service for Rae Plumlee will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with interment following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
