Jan 11th, 1941 - Oct 18th, 2014Patrick Anthony Current, 73 of Morris, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2014. Born January 11, 1941 in Effingham, Illinois, he was the son of the late David and Ann (Phalen) Current.
He was raised and educated in Flora, Illinois. Patrick enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Klondike AR22. He married Phyllis Toombs on August 17, 1968.
Patrick worked as an electrician his entire life and retired from Local Union 176. He enjoyed car shows, Cruise Night, and especially his 1962 Chevy Impala.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children: Tracy (Rob) Mingo, Kellee (Edgar) Dominguez, William (Lynette) Peel, and Alex Current; grandchildren: Patrick and Meghan Rusniak, Hayley Mingo, Alton Peel, Kaitlyn and Eric Exline, Sandy Hartmann, and Arwen Maule.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Current and Jack Current; sister, Esther DesPres; and cousin, Maryanne Sylvester.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church located at 516 E. Jackson Street in Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Edward J. Howe, CR as Presider. Burial will be in Sample Cemetery with full military honors by the Morris Color Guard.
Memorials may be made in Patrick’s name to the family.
