Aug 22nd, 1955 - Mar 22nd, 2015Andy Wayne Wathan, age 59, of Louisville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.
Andy was born August 22, 1955 in Flora, Illinois to William “Bill” and Betty (McVeigh) Wathan. He married Cheryl J. Waller on December 2, 1978 at North Harter Christian Church. Andy was a heavy equipment operator and a 40 year member of Operating Engineers Local #841. He was a member of Brown Christian Curch and enjoyed his hobby of metal working and reading science fiction novels, but raising cattle was his true love.
He is survived by his wife: Cheryl Wathan of Louisville; a son: Michael Wathan of Louisville; his mother: Betty Wathan of Flora; a brother: Asher Wathan and wife Teresa of Columbia; along with 1 nephew and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father.
A funeral service for Andy Wathan will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to Oil Belt Christian Service Camp and will be received at the funeral home.
