Rose Oestreich
Aug 17th, 1929 - Apr 25th, 2015Rose Mary Oestreich, age 85, of Flora, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.
Rose was born August 17, 1929 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of John and Molly (Hirsch) Felton. She married Charles Oestreich on June 20, 1948 in Centralia. He preceded her in death 24 days ago on April 1, 2015.
Rose began her working career at the Hollywood Candy Factory in Centralia. She continued in food service throughout her career, ending at the Clay County Hospital Dietary Department, retiring in 1999. Rose devoted her life to her children and was a proud Grandma. She was a member of Brown Christian Church in Kinmundy.
She is survived by her eight children: Steve (Carol) Oestreich of Xenia, Debby (David) Devore of Flora, Randy (Janet) Oestreich of Kinmundy, Mark (Patty) Oestreich of Flora, Patty (Dale) Loehr of Flora, Lori (Tim) VanDyke of Hord, Tim (RaeAnn) Oestreich of Flora, and Angie (Kevin) Connell of Flora; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, an infant daughter Cheryl, great-grandson Bryce, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.
A funeral service for Rose Oestreich will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora. Interment will be in Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to Golden Circle Nutrition Program and will be received at the funeral home.
