Jerry Wayne Camden, age 56, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by loving family.
Jerry Wayne was born February 22, 1959, in Flora, the son of Roger Camden and Marilyn J. (Pruitt). Jerry Wayne was awarded a degree in mathematics from Rend Lake College. In the past, he was employed at AMF in Olney, and had worked as a welder. Fishing and hunting were favorite activities, and he will be remembered as a terrific chef.
He is survived by his mother: Marilyn Jones of Clay City; a daughter: Marilyn Jean Skobel of Herrin; 2 sons: Christopher Ryan Camden of Herrin and Shawn Michael Joseph of Westland, Michigan; 2 granddaughters: Brooklynn Ryan and Ariana Jade; 2 sisters: Terri Morgan and Tammie Vessechia, both of Westland, Michigan; nieces and nephews and very special great-nieces and nephews; and his stepfather: James Jones of Flora. His adoring dog, Max, was also a loyal companion in Jerry Wayne's life. Jerry Wayne was preceded in death by his father; a sister: Tracy Hunt; and an infant brother: James Joey.
A funeral service for Jerry Wayne Camden will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Bunker Cemetery, Rinard. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday where friends may call from 12 Noon until the hour of service.
