Mary Dolores Naas, age 93, of Flora, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.
Dolores was born September 15, 1922 in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Michael Joseph and Carolyn (Gilmartin) Taggart. She married Victor Edward Naas on February 13, 1947 in Eldorado. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2008.
Following her nurse’s training in Cairo, Dolores worked as a nurse’s aide in Eldorado and Flora, and also worked at the Flora International Shoe Factory. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Altar Society of the church. Dolores loved her grandkids dearly and enjoyed crocheting and helping with the church bazaars.
She is survived by her daughter: Kathy (Dennis) Youngblood of Flora; 2 grandchildren: Bekin Youngblood of St. Charles, MO and Leslie Rusk of Flora; and 4 great-grandchildren: Sydney, Rayden, Liam, and Jase. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: Charles Taggart, Michael Patrick Taggart, and two infant brothers, and two sisters: Catherine Marie DeJean and Margaret Elder.
A funeral mass for Dolores Naas will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Flora. Interment will be in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
