Richard “Rick” Persinger, age 70, of Flora, Illinois, died at 2:35 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Persinger was born February 28, 1945 in Flora, the son of Cassell and Leora “Sharp” Persinger. He served our country in the military and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. His greatest passions were riding his Harley motorcycle and spending quality time with his dog “Bear”. He also enjoyed playing guitar, and being around family and friends.
Survivors include: one daughter and granddaughter Krystal Griffith and Alexia Cricelli of Highland: one brother and sister-in-law: Mike and Dani “Sis” Persinger; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Deloris and Robert “Bob” Johnson, Rita and Bob Mitchell, and Brenda and Danny Bradham, all of Flora, Linda and Jack Halfacre of Iuka, and Kathy and Homer Fitch of Cisne.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Cassell and Leora “Sharp” Persinger, one son Rick “Little Ricky” Persinger, two brothers: Don and Lee Persinger, and one sister: Karen Fitch.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
