Janice Van Matre
Feb 17th, 1960 - Jan 27th, 2016Janice May Van Matre, age 55, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Janice was born February 17, 1960, in Olney, Illinois. For the past 16 years she has been a delivery driver for the Flora Pizza Hut. She loved cooking and enjoyed doing crosswords, playing the Lottery, and crocheting. Grandkids were everything to Janice.
She is survived by her daughters: Margaret Van Matre of Flora and Yvonne “Kathy” Van Matre of Xenia; step-mother: Beth Van Matre of Cisne; five grandchildren: Jordyn Totten, Justin Totten, Jessica Totten, Cheyenne Hahn, and Tristan Hahn; siblings: David (Sharon) Van Matre of Wynoose, Oakie (Regina) Van Matre of Olney, Joyce Denoncour of Flora, Carl (Amy) Van Matre of Mackie, IN, Betty (Smitty) Smith of Albion, and Deborah (Craig) Fickas of Cisne; along with many nieces, nephews, and “children” that Janice considered her own.
She was preceded in death by her father: Billy Harmon Van Matre; her mother and step-father: Jana Lou (Martin) Ramsey and husband Frank Ramsey; and granddaughter: Paige Hahn.
A funeral service for Janice Van Matre will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Noble. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations should be made to Frank & Bright Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
