Jeffery Wayne “JW” Rudy, age 58, of Noble, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at his home in Noble.
JW was born May 6, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Richard K. and Kay A. (Ober) Rudy. He married Tammy McCulley on February 17, 2005.
JW worked alongside his father and brothers in their family oil business, JW Rudy Company. Early in his career he worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico in oil production. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Olney Masonic Lodge. JW enjoyed 4-wheeler riding and being outside around his property and lake, and his greatest joy was time spent with his daughters and granddaughter.
JW is survived by his wife: Tammy Rudy of Noble; 2 daughters: Emily Brooke VanWinkle (Lynn) of Carmel, IN, and Kristen Danielle Rudy (Logan Furlough) of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter: Sophia Elise; mother: Kay Rudy of Flora; siblings: Sharon Fry (Dennis) of Fairfield, Steve Rudy (Ginny) of Flora, David Rudy (Marsha) of Flora, and Scott Rudy of Flora; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Geneva & Ed McGrew of Geff; aunts and uncle: Beverly (the late Edward) Zimmerman of Dade City, FL, and Mike & Martha Ober of Oklahoma City, OK; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father: Richard K. Rudy, and grandparents: John W. & Crystal Rudy, and Joe & Willie Ober.
A funeral service for JW Rudy will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Noble. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at the conclusion of the visitation at 7 p.m. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to Clay County Animal Rescue and Shelter (CCARS), Fur A Good Paws, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and any of these will be accepted at the funeral home.
