James E. Rinehart, age 60, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Monday morning, May 9, 2016, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
James was born in Flora on March 6, 1956, the son of Norman G. and Wanda (Cottengaim) Rinehart. He married Brenda Sehie on January 10, 1981, at the Lutheran Church in Flora. James was employed by Veolia North America as Division Safety Manager for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, woodworking, painting, and working in his shop. He attended the Flora Church of the Nazarene.
James is survived by his wife: Brenda Rinehart of Flora; son: Cortez Rohr of Carbondale; 3 daughters: Lacey Rinehart (Marty Shu) of Catonsville, MD, Dena Rinehart of Urbana, and Katie Rinehart (Jake Heminover) of Salem; 4 grandchildren: Marcus James, Gwyneth, Samantha, and Harper; and 2 brothers: Mike (Sharon) Rinehart of Flora and Eric (Penny) Rinehart of Springfield. Also surviving are a number of in-laws, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Norman Rinehart and wives Helen Duke Rinehart and Leona Taylor Rinehart; his mother: Wanda Schnautz and husband Sherman; and one brother: Norlan Rinehart.
A funeral service for James Rinehart will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with Pastor Phil Alvord officiating. Interment will follow in Hoosier Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to Flora Church of the Nazarene and will be accepted at the funeral home.
