Patricia Ann Chadderton, of Steeleville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the home of her son, in Flora, Illinois, in the embrace of her loving family. She was 72.
Pat was born March 24, 1944, in Chester, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth Martin and Cornelia Ann (Mills) Chadderton.
Pat treasured her most recent years, enjoying life with her grandchildren, making trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama, and collecting unique statuary for her flamingo collection. She looked forward to getting together with “the girls” to share laughter and stories of the past and present. Everyone who knew Pat recognized that she was an imaginative creator, and dreamed projects into something that could come to life in beautiful fashion. She most recently created holiday designs for Flora's “Christmas in the Park” displays that won first-place trophies for three-consecutive years, and she loved putting up and decorating old-fashioned Christmas trees at Heritage Woods of Flora. Patricia was of the Lutheran faith, baptized at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Steeleville.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ryan and Jessica Muskopf of Flora; 2 beloved grandchildren: Katie and Teddy; sister: Betty Chadderton of Steeleville; and a brother and sister-in-law: Bruce and Lisa Chadderton of Campbell Hill. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Donna Brenning; and a brother: John Chadderton.
A funeral service for Patricia Chadderton will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. Kelly C. Bedard officiating. Interment will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, with Pastor Bruce Horsley officiating at the graveside committal. Two times of visitation will be held: first in Flora, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home on Friday from 9-10 a.m., and then at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville on Friday from 1-3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers or gift items, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to Clay County Hospice, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are in the care of both Wilson’s Funeral Home of Steeleville and Frank & Bright Funeral Home of Flora.
