May 16th, 1983 - Feb 20th, 2017Jesse Dale Carpenter, age 33, of Clay City, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017.
Jesse was born May 16, 1983, in Olney, the son of Marla Raley and Sonny Dale Carpenter. Jesse attended Flora Assembly of God Church and was a treasured friend of many. He enjoyed listening to music, playing chess and cards, working Sudoku puzzles, and had many interests in life. Growing up, he excelled in track and basketball and many people still comment how they loved to watch him play. Jesse had a kind heart and brought joy to the lives of many people.
Jesse is survived by his parents: Sonny Dale Carpenter of Clay City and Marla Raley of Olney; a sister: Misty (Jarrod) Parish and children, Andrew, Britton, and Madison of Flora; a brother: Carl Carpenter and son, Bradlee of Flora; a son: Alex of Flora; paternal grandparents: Gene and Shirley Carpenter of Clay City; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Willard Carl and Dorothy Merle Foreman.
A Celebration of Life for Jesse Dale Carpenter will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions can be made to Frank & Bright Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses, and these will be received by the funeral home.
