Coline Jane McCormack, age 91, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, March 2, 2017, at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.
Coline was born on February 4, 1926, in Lutesville, MO, the daughter of Rosewell and Mona (Sitze) Bess. She married Charles McCormack on March 17, 1973. Coline was retired from the Flora Hospital where she worked in the Dietary Department, and was a faithful member of the Xenia United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Charles McCormack of Xenia; 2 daughters: Brenda Glover and husband C.L. “Buddy” Glover, Jr. of Olney, and Cindy McCormack-Green of Springfield, IL; 3 grandsons: C.L. “Len” Glover III and wife Jamie of O’Fallon, IL, Aaron Glover and wife Nichole of Oklahoma City, OK, and Charlie Brake and wife Jessica of Clay City; 8 great-grandchildren: Hayden Glover, Jackson Glover, Claire Glover, Caroline Glover, Wyatt Glover, Lucas Glover, Payton Brake, and Katelyn Brake; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Earl Bess and Steve Bess; and 8 sisters: Vera Mason, Virginia Allen, Wanda Rayls, Dorothy Phegley, Remona Sue Bess, Lula Bell Bess, Barbara Gail Hoosier, and Glenda Seagraves.
A funeral service for Coline McCormack will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Xenia United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bob McNeely officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in Powers Cemetery, Xenia. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora. Memorial contributions in Coline’s memory may be given to Xenia United Methodist Church and will be accepted through the funeral home.
