Jun 20th, 1945 - Mar 11th, 2017Sandra K. Blackwell, age 71, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Sandy was born June 20, 1945, in DeKalb, the daughter of Gerald “Jerry” B. and Ethel M. “Granny” (Sisson) Griffith. She was united in marriage to Don E. Blackwell in 1964.
Sandy’s surviving family includes her husband: Don Blackwell, of Flora; a son: Don (wife Donna) Blackwell Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee; a daughter: Traci (husband Jim) Stanley of Flora; a stepdaughter: Candi (husband Gene) McVay of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Edna (husband Dennis) White of Decatur, Sharon Davis of Flora, Gerald (wife Penny) Griffith of Greenfield, Indiana; and Terry (husband Gary) Lane of Flora; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Phyllis (husband Jack) Pickel; and a brother-in-law: Richard Davis.
