Ronald Lee Hall, age 62, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born February 16, 1955, in Flora, the son of Donald G. and Laura E. (Chaney) Hall. Ron spent most of his career driving millions of miles for trucking companies including Upstaging, Inc., which transported equipment for the entertainment industry. He had also driven for Haliburton and Ozark Mountain Tours, and served in the U.S. Air Force. Ron enjoyed photography and supporting youth sports.
He is survived by his siblings: Deborah (Mike) McKinney of Flora, Doug (Brenda) Hall of Shelbyville, and Bill Hall (Nikkie Aters) of Flora; nieces and nephews: Donna (Chad) Lueking, Shawn (Amy) McKinney, Donnie Hall, Chad (Jennifer) Hall, Jeremy Hall (Brandie), Jason (Heidi) Hall, Aimee Hall (Bret), Clint Hall, and Caitlyn Hall; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and 2 uncles: Bill (Donna) Chaney and Mike (June) Chaney both of Flora.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Don and Jean Hall; maternal grandparents: Fred and Opal Chaney; and paternal grandparents: Earl and Doris Hall.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Ron Hall will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 1-3 p.m. at the Flora Moose. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make a memorial donation in Ron’s memory to Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, which will be accepted through the funeral home.
