William “Bill” Strange, age 67, of Lewisburg, Kentucky, formerly of Flora, Illinois, passed away December 24, 2017, at his home.
Bill was born May 30, 1950, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of James and Myrtle (Barker) Strange. He was united in marriage to Barbara (Wheeler) Strange at the Clay City Church of God on June 3, 1978, and together they shared 39 years of marriage.
Bill was a Marine veteran and worked at several jobs over the years including: Flora Elks Club, International Shoe Factory, Krailis Brothers in Olney, Trevor Bissey Café, and took over Billy Schnepper’s Restaurant in Clay City. He was also a member of the Flora Odd Fellows Lodge. He loved traveling, taking Amish from state to state, and loved spending time with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife: Barbara Strange of Flora; daughter: Amy (Larry) Schrauth of Flora; 2 sons: Harry Strange and Louie Strange (fiancée Jada) both of Flora; 4 grandchildren: David Crouse, Myra Hancock, Nya Strange, and Colton Strange, and another expected granddaughter; 2 sisters-in-law: Joyce Cook of Clay City and Linda (Jake) Dulaney of Flora; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Myrtle Strange; a brother: Larry Strange and his wife Susan; mother-in-law: Violet Wheeler; father-in-law: Harry Wheeler; and brothers-in-law: Joe Carter and Lester Wheeler.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, and interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the hour of service on Thursday. Memorials may be given to the family to assist with expenses.
