Virginia Annette “Ginny” Timm, age 90, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday evening, April 12, 2018, at her home.
Ginny was born March 6, 1928, in Black Creek, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Weisenberger) Blick. She married Dr. Stanley M. Timm on May 20, 1950, in Appleton, Wisconsin, and together they shared 59 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2010.
Ginny gave freely of her time and energy to many causes including: Clay County Hospital Auxiliary, Clay County Hospice Volunteer, Illinois Chiropractic Society Auxiliary, Ladies Golf Association, and she and Stanley both helped at the CCMA Food Pantry for many years. She was also a member of the YoYo Club, Ladies Pinochle Club, Flora Garden Club, and was an instructor for AARP Drivers Safety Program. Ginny was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society and a Minister of the Eucharist within the church.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Jim) McCarty of Flora, Gary (Jane) Timm of Edwardsville, Mary (Steve) Cook of Carmi, Larry (Becky) Timm of Flora, and Theresa (Greg) Smith of Xenia; along with 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her special friend and caregiver: Sharon Harnden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 brothers: Vincent, Eugene, Gervase and Lawrence Blick; and 4 sisters: Marion Sprister, Dorothy Gloudeman, Gen Balthazor, and an infant sister Clara.
A funeral mass for Ginny Timm will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 16th at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Flora. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15th at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with a 3:30 p.m. Rosary. Memorial donations may be given to St. Stephen Catholic Church, Clay County Hospice, or CCMA Food Pantry and will be accepted at the funeral home.
