   Sharon Ruth Thompson, age 65, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
   Sharon was born November 14, 1952, in Wayne County, the daughter of Donald Lewis Thompson and Dorothy (Henderson) Thompson.  She served in the U.S. Navy, was formerly employed at Flora Manor, and attended Heartland Worship Center.  Sharon loved working with small children and was always offering to volunteer if she saw a need.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and was a devoted WWE fan.
   Sharon is survived by her mother: Dorothy Henderson; siblings: Betty Sargeant, Glenda (Lester) Banks, Mike (Ann) Thompson, Debra Thompson; nieces and nephews including: Elizabeth Banks, Jeramy Banks, and Melissa Peters; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and her cat, “Big Foot”.  
   She was preceded in death by her father; and siblings: Donald “Butch” Thompson Jr., Marilyn Colwell, Donna Bailey, Charles “Chuck” Thompson, and Monte Henderson.
   Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  Frank & Bright Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to offset expenses.  To share a condolence or memory, visit www.frankandbright.com.
