David Holman

     David A. Holman, age 82, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, at his home.

     He was born January 29, 1936, in San Bernardino, California, the son of Asa Cole Holman and Evelyn Holman, in a family with 4 other brothers and 2 sisters.  He married Erma Jean Hoggard in 1956 in Bloomington, California. She preceded him in death November 21, 2015.

     David was an ironworker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, whittling, and hunting for arrowheads.

     He is survived by his children: Mark (Debbie) Holman of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Dale Lee Holman of Carterville, Becky (Phil) Tanzer, and Steve Holman of Xenia; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

     A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Xenia, where interment will follow.  Mark Luzadder will officiate.  A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the cemetery.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to Odd Fellows Cemetery and will be accepted by the funeral home.
