Sherril Stockon

   Sherril Lynn Stockon, age 67, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 12, 2018, at her home, in the care of her loving family.

   She was born March 15, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Richard J. and Gloria Pauline (Lawyer) McClain.  Sherril was united in marriage to Charles Stockon Jr. in Vandalia on March 10, 1976, sharing 42 wedding anniversaries together.

   Sherril was a homemaker and when she wasn’t busy taking good care of her family, she enjoyed watching TV, doing puzzles, and playing games like Canasta and Greedy.  She truly loved her pets and her family.

   She is survived by her husband: Charles Stockon Jr. of Flora; children: Corrinna Berning (Bobby) of Xenia, Troy Allen (Tammy) of Xenia, Dawn Mayberry (Jamie) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Tanya Tackitt (Terry) of Olney, Jeremy Stockon (Patricia) of Flora, and Shane Stockon of Nashville; siblings: Colleen Kucin (John) of Marana, Arizona, Joy Pollock of LaVerne, California, Gail Desnoyer (Richard) of Altus, Oklahoma, Collette McClain of LaVerne, California, and Evan McClain (Karen) of Hesperia, California; along with 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her pets: Blue and P. Diddle.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Brian and Erin McClain; and special pets: Sparkie, Dew Drop, and Mr. Big Stuff.

   Private services are planned.  In Sherril’s memory, donations may be made to a love fund for the family, and these will be accepted through Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
