Shirley Ferguson
Mar 2nd, 1940 - Sep 17th, 2018Shirley Mae Ferguson, age 78, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, September 17, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.
She was born March 2, 1940 in Marseilles, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Marie (Moats) Treadman.
Shirley owned and operated Custer Park Tavern and First and Last Stop. Shirley was an outgoing person and loved to travel. She enjoyed going out to eat and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by 5 sons: Jerry Lee Ferguson Jr. (Elizabeth), Kenneth Ferguson (Sandra), Jeffrey Ferguson (Sandy), Ernest Ferguson (Julie), and John Robert Sherman; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; former husband: Johnny Sherman; and siblings: Marlene, Sue, and Kenneth.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Evans will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church and will be accepted through the funeral home.
