Robert Dale Pittman, age 77, of Cisne, Illinois, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora.

Dale was born January 30, 1936 in Wayne County, to Guy H. and Emma Jane (Pruitt) Pittman. He married Charlotte J. Holstein on September 4, 1962 in Albion. Dale was often busy helping others and taking care of his garden, and enjoyed time spent with his family and grandson. He had been self-employed, working as a water well driller and farmer.

He is survived by his wife: Charlotte Pittman of Cisne; two sons: Edward (wife Perrian) Upton of Hughesville, Maryland, and Robert S. Pittman of Rinard; a daughter: Sherry Bradford of Clay City; a grandson: Seth Bradford of Clay City; two sisters: Naomi Parsons of Sublette, Kansas, and Doris (husband Rick) Corine of Cisne; and also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Helen, Violet, Juanita and Martha; and three brothers: Delbert, Everett and Ray.

A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Cisne Cemetery where interment will follow. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is assisting the family with arrangements.
