Judith Ann Winters, 68, of Watson, Illinois, died 8 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. She was born February 24, 1950, in Flora, to Charles and Ferne (Bussey) Harrell. Judy married Paul Winters on July 3, 1969. She was a 1968 graduate of Flora High School. She worked as a secretary at Airtex in Fairfield, and had been on the staff of Dr. William Rezabeck and Dr. Charles Horin. Judy was a member of Christ’s Church in Effingham.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; a daughter, Jodi (Mike) Holub of Pekin; a son, Ryan (Ginny) Winters of Kodak, Tennessee; her mother, Ferne Harrell of Flora; 7 grandchildren; nieces, including Jill Secor with whom she had a special relationship; and her aunt, Velma Davis of Flora.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her sister, Janet Rigg.
A celebration of life ceremony for Judy will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Christ’s Church in Effingham. There will be a gathering time from 5 until 6 p.m. Wednesday prior to the ceremony to visit with the family. The following day, on Thursday, December 27, a visitation will take place from 5 until 7 p.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. On Friday, December 28, a funeral ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, with interment following in Cisne Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the Benevolence Fund of Christ’s Church, Effingham.
