Theodore “Ted” W. Pfortmiller, age 70, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, February 23, 2019, at Flora Gardens Care Center.
He was born January 11, 1949, in Elgin, the son of the late Theodore W. Pfortmiller Sr. and Delores B. (Vannice) Pfortmiller. He married Teri V. Young Sorensen on September 9, 1989, in Elgin, and she preceded him in death January 10, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Juanita Pfortmiller; and daughter: Brenda Cordray.
Ted worked for Gerbing Manufacturing Company, St. Charles Kitchen, Simpson Electric, and Revcor. He was a great father and loved music and following Nascar, especially Ford drivers. He enjoyed sparking a laugh in others with his good sense of humor.
He is survived by his children: Timmy (Lydia) Raper, Al Raper, Charlotte Raper, Lisa (Johnny) Wallace, David Sorensen, and John Sorensen; 7 siblings: Sherry (Dave) Ebert, Mike (Vickie) Pfortmiller, Penny Sue Pfortmiller, Vickie Bell, Crystal (Phil) Serrurier, Bryon Pfortmiller, and Steve Pfortmiller; a sister-in-law: Mary Freeman; and many grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Xenia. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. An online guestbook is available at: www.frankandbright.com.
