David Jones

   David Earl Jones, age 79, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, September 19, 2019, at his home.

   He was born November 14, 1939, in Flora, the son of Henderson A. and Hazel Irene (Stanton) Jones.

   David farmed and worked in the oil fields.  He enjoyed taking part in stock car racing in the past and looked forward to days that he could spend mushroom hunting.

   David married the late Della Waggoner and they had 2 children together: Mark Jones (Jamie) of Simpson; a daughter: Dana G. Heleine (Jerry) of West York.  David is also survived by his life partner: Linda J. Pfeifer of Oblong and her 5 children: Paula Catt (Brandon), Tom Pfeifer (Angie), Tim Pfeifer (Kelly), David Pfeifer (Tanya), and Christina Goss (Lenny); as well as a total of 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.

   A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Mike Irvin officiating.  Interment will follow in Kneff Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
