Deborah 'Debbie' Jones

   Deborah 'Debbie' Elaine Jones, age 62, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning, October 20, 2019, at her home.

   She was born December 23, 1956, in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Erbin and Bonnie Delores (Prater) Steele.  She was united in marriage to Richard Kent Jones on September 8, 1973, in Louisville, and they have shared 46 wedding anniversaries together.

   Debbie had worked several jobs in the past including as a pharmacy technician for Throgmorton’s Pharmacy and then CVS Pharmacy until her recent retirement.  She was a devoted member of Clay County Christ’s Church where she enjoyed life group.  She was a Chicken Foot dominoes champion and enjoyed doing crafts.  She volunteered her time with The Master’s Hands in Newton, Feed the Crave Ministries, and Serve Now with Christ’s Church in Effingham.  Debbie cherished time spent with her loved ones and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.        

   She is survived by her husband Kent Jones of Louisville; a son: Daniel (Lydia) Jones of Cookeville, TN; a daughter: Lisa Jones of Flora; 6 grandchildren: Alicia Franciskovich of Flora, Kelsey Franciskovich of Flora, Blaine Ogle of Cookeville, TN, Blake Ogle of Cookeville, TN, Seth Jones of Sparta, TN, and Sarah Jones of Sparta, TN; a brother: Dwayne (Sonia) Steele of Sparta, TN; and a lifelong friend: Tara Race.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents: Frank and Mattie Prater and Everette and Maggie (Porter) Steele.

   A funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Christ’s Church in Flora with Ben Farleigh officiating.  Interment will follow in Red Brush Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and Thursday 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted through the funeral home.
