Spencer Troy Harrell, age 53, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away November 18, 2019, at his home.
He was born November 20, 1966, in Flora, the son of Tod Harrell and Linda (Rowan) Schumacher. He was united in marriage to Darla Denise Brown on May 22, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada and they shared 11 wedding anniversaries together until her death January 1, 2004.
Spencer, also known over the years to family and friends as “Red,” “Troy,” “Harry,” or “Spence,” loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed fishing whenever he had the chance, working on all kinds of projects, and time spent with family and friends. He attended Christ’s Church in Flora.
He is survived by a son: Zach Harrell (Kari Murphy) of Xenia; a daughter: Morgan Harrell of Salem; a granddaughter: Ivy May; mother: Linda (David) Schumacher of Sigel; father: Tod (Deanie) Harrell of Evansville, IN; siblings: Rhea (Monte) Huddlestun of Effingham, Matthew (Jody) Schumacher of Sigel, Michael Schumacher of Sigel, Patrick Harrell of Salem, and Diana Matlock of Evansville, IN; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Darla Harrell; maternal grandmother: Flora Rowan; maternal grandfather: Clyde Rowan; and paternal grandmother: Betty Harrell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Ben Farleigh officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with services following.
