Melba R. Dulaney, age 83, of Flora, IL passed away at 8:47 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her home in Flora.

Melba was born on July 22, 1929 in DeKoven, KY to Springer and Bertha (Sutton) Sale. She married Robert E. Dulaney on June 22, 1946 in Louisville. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2001. In the past she had worked at the Flora Elks and at Four Sisters Manufacturing. Melba took pride in taking care of her home, raising her family, and being with her family and grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, derbies, going to the show, and she loved to Jitterbug.

She is survived by her children: Betty Wathan of Flora, Rose Dulaney of Flora, Vicki (David) Sledge of Dix, Robert Dulaney of Flora; Tony (Cathy) Dulaney of Louisville, Tammy Dulaney of Clay City, Wayne Dulaney of Flora; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents (Springer and Bertha Sale), husband (Robert E. Dulaney), son (Mickey Dulaney), granddaughter (Trisha), son-in-law (David Wathan), daughter-in-law (Bev Dulaney), 8 brothers, 4 sisters, and 3 infant grandchildren.

The funeral service for Melba Dulaney will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Bruce Horsley officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice or to Fur A Good Paws.
