Betty Rose Greenwood, age 87, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born May 10, 1932, in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Pearl Williams and Faye (Staley) Williams. She was united in marriage to Ranard L. Greenwood on November 16, 1948, in Flora, Illinois, and together they have shared 71 years of marriage.
Betty loved all her family and especially cherished the moments she shared with her grandchildren. She was always interested in keeping up with their sporting activities. She looked forward to working in her flower beds and had a great fondness for her roses. She loved country music and often reflected on her warm memories of dancing at the Flora Hub. On weekends you could often find her and Ranard enjoying the outdoors while staying at their cabin on Trago Lake. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Louisville.
She is survived by her husband: Ranard Greenwood of Flora; 5 children: Tom (Pat) Greenwood of Xenia, Danny (Debbie) Greenwood of Flora, Debbie (Matt) Kuenstler of Louisville, Marty Greenwood (Gena Block) of Flora, and Rodney Greenwood of Flora; 38 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Nick Compton; a granddaughter: Ashley Ames; 3 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; 5 brothers: Joe, Ben, Roy, Frank, and Otis Williams; and 2 sisters: Lillie and Flossie Kneff.
