Lynda Kay Koehler, age 76, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born October 14, 1943, in Macoupin, County the daughter of Delmar E. and Lola D. (Pruitt) Eskew. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Koehler May 1, 1965, and together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Lynda enjoyed quilting, fishing, taking photos, gardening, and was very knowledgeable about growing roses. She enjoyed playing cards and games such as pinochle, canasta, dominoes, and cherished time spent playing Uno with her grandkids and great grandkids. Lynda had worked in a factory in the past and had driven a semi-truck during a time when there were few women truck drivers.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Koehler of Flora; 5 children: Terrie (Bob) Coble of Oklahoma, Jerrie (Jeff) Haynes of Ingraham, Sherrie (Gary) Kittle of Clay City, Robin (Phillip) Corry of Flora, and Robert Koehler II of Rinard; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Delmar and Lola Eskew; siblings: Lorraine Williamson, Carl Eskew, Clifford Eskew, Chester “Chet” Eskew, and Cloyd “Coy” Eskew; and a granddaughter: Andrea Weiler.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Elmwood Cemetery. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora assisted the family with arrangements.
