Connie S. Pipkins, age 56, of Effingham, IL formerly of Flora, passed away at 8:11 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Good Samaritan RHC in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Connie was born on September 22, 1956 in Texas to David “Bud” and Helen J. (Greenwood) Dulaney. She was married to Bobby Pipkins. Connie had worked as a dental assistant at Martin Dental. She was a member of Oak Street Southern Baptist Church in Flora, The Humane Society of the United States, and was a supporter of the St. Labre Indian School. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and just getting out and enjoying life. Connie was generous, selfless, and always trying to help others. Family and friends were always important to her and she always stayed in touch especially on holidays and special occasions.
She is survived by her children: Adam Pipkins and Heather Pipkins both of Effingham; a sister: Linda (Charles) Lewis of Flora; a grandson: Brayden Aldredge; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother (Dave L. Dulaney Jr.).
A graveside service for Connie Pipkins will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. There will be no visitation. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Oak Street Southern Baptist Church.
