G.C. Barlow
Jan 31st, 1943 - Jul 6th, 2020G.C. Barlow, age 77, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, July 6, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 31, 1943, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, the son of Clurie and Juessie Barlow. He was united in marriage to Carmeletta C. Hale on May 20, 1966.
G.C. worked as a forklift driver at Valley Steel and later at Sparton Manufacturing. He liked Hank Williams Sr. and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. G.C. worked hard to provide for his family and could do about anything he put his mind to. He enjoyed time spent talking on his CB radios and his handle was Flora Town Kentucky Ridge Runner.
He is survived by his wife: Carmeletta Barlow of Flora; 4 sons: Ronnie Jay (Amy) Barlow of Centralia, Donnie Lee (Vanessa) Barlow of Terre Haute, IN, Jonathan Ray Barlow of Iuka, and Robert Lee (Corinna) Barlow of Shelby County; 7 grandchildren: Christopher, Dustin, Michael, Michelle, Kimberly, Jaxon, and Adriana Barlow; and 2 great-grandchildren: Evelynn and Easton Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers.
There will be no services. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora assisted the family with arrangements.
