Graveside Ceremony: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Bunker Cemetery
Visitation: 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Lee Everett Pruitt, age 77, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday evening, August 12, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born December 20, 1942, in Flora, the son of Arthur Galen and Bernice Evelyn (Benefield) Pruitt.
Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and listening to country music. Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr., and Gordon Lightfoot were among his favorites.
He is survived by his siblings: Marilyn Jones of Clay City, Patty (Tom) Morris of Bridgeport, Janice (Scott) Colclasure of Flora, Delores (Richard) Schnepper of Clay City, James (Linda Sue) Pruitt of Clay City, Larry Pruitt of Clay City, Linda Curtis of Flora, and Sherry (Paul) Peeler of Xenia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Gene, Jerry, and Wayne Pruitt.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Bunker Cemetery with Pastor Brad Harris officiating. Visitation will be 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home. Uncle lee was one of the most fun & loving person you would ever meet. He always cracked jokes at us kids and gave each one of us a nickname for that day lol. Uncle lee Was all around what you would imagine the best uncle. I will miss the guitar singing & the laughter he brought to all of us. He left us with so many great memories & I am so thankful to call him my uncle.

I knew Lee Everett since we were pups! I always knew him to be a kind person who never said anything bad about anyone. Condolences are extended.
