Funeral Ceremony: 1 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Interment: Powers Cemetery, Xenia
Visitation: 12 noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home
Brenda Sue Johnson, age 58, of Dix, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, December 21, 2020, at her home.
She was born February 3, 1962, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Benny L. and Margaret A. (Dow) Johnson.
Brenda worked as a waitress for several years right after High School. She later worked for NAL and then as a forklift driver for Walgreens in Mt. Vernon. She enjoyed time spent traveling, collecting antiques, and going to rummage sales where she was always finding good deals. Her children were her world and she always looked forward to spending time with family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was always the life of the party and full of energy and will be remembered for her spunky personality.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Tabitha Steward of Mt. Vernon, Cassidy Steward of Flora, and Brittany Steward of Keenes; 3 granddaughters: Lily, Abigail, and Madilyn; 1 grandson: Lukas; mother: Margaret Eubanks of Flora; sister: Kathy (Ronald) Jennings; stepbrother: Michael (Joanna) Eubanks; half-brother: Ryan (Nikki) Lampert; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father: Benny Johnson; maternal grandparents: Roscoe and Waif Dow; paternal grandparents: Bruce and Bernice Johnson; stepfather: Roy Eubanks; and a stepbrother: Richie Eubanks.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Powers Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. My heart shakes, I cant begin to tell you how much Brenda meant to me and my boys. She was amazing and so interesting. I enjoyed being around her, working side by side at here house and all the fun times we had. God bless her until I meet again hold a place up there for me "Baby Bean"

I worked with Brenda for awhile. She had the best personality and she was HILARIOUS. She is a character that won't be easily forgotten, a light in the world. I am So very sorry for your loss. I remember Brenda as a very sweet, fun-loving child. I babysat for her when Margaret bowled. No one should have to suffer the loss of their child! My thoughts and prayers are with you, Margaret and Kathy and Brenda’s entire family. We were blessed to have known her! May the Peace that passes all understanding be with you as you grieve the loss of your loved one.
Brenda has always been a special little gal and over the years grew to love her, appreciated her, worried about her, and was always interested in her, hoping she was well and happy, and admired her for her love of life, and the fact that she took it in stride and lived it to the utmost, and you would never know that she had any physical problem, she was a trooper, and will be missed. Thank you God for allowing her to be with us this long, she touched many lives.
I will never forget you my friend, I was so blessed to have known you since our kids were babies. Loved living by you and spending our summers together at the pool! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers right now! I love you Brenda! Rest in peace dear friend!

I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Brenda . Not only was she my daughters grandmother, she was also a my friend. We worked many years together a Walgreens. We have laughed , cried, and everything in between over the years. Brenda you will be missed and you are loved! So sorry for this loss to the family and your in my prayers!
