Funeral Ceremony: 2 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Interment: Powers Cemetery, Xenia
Visitation: 12 noon until time of service on Monday at the funeral home
Cheryl Crowe, age 56, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, February 9, 2022, at Clay County Hospital.
She was born August 27, 1965, in Geneva, Illinois, the daughter of Jerry “Boots” and Dixie L. (Brown) Young.
Cheryl enjoyed sewing, crafting, watching Dr. Pol on the Discovery Channel, and was an avid book reader. She was a caretaker and loved all of her residents at the nursing home. Cheryl cherished all the time she got to spend making memories with her grandkids. She was on the Garden Hill Township Board for several years and attended Xenia Community Church.
She is survived by her children: Amy Crowe of Flora, Jacob (Macey) Crowe of Olney, Sarah Allen (Travis Shehorn) of Centralia, and Ethan Young (Violet Fox) of Xenia; mother: Dixie Young of Xenia; 7 grandchildren: Mercedes, Lillian, Bentley, and Jessabella Allen, Sophia and Colson Crowe, and James Young; and siblings: Jeff Young of Xenia, and Michelle (Mark) Kuhlig of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her father; brothers: Jerry Dion Young and Steven Young; and a sister: Teresa Eastin.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Powers Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Dixie and family, Sorry to hear about this!!! I worked with Cheryl. In her younger days, and in past 2yrs. Being a certified nurses aid isn't easy! She was a hard worker with a kind soul.
