Funeral Ceremony: 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home
A committal ceremony and interment will take place in Clay City Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery on Saturday.
Dee Ann Staley, age 70, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Wednesday night, June 28, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
She was born August 12, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, the daughter of Gordon Calvin and Jewel Pansy (Romack) Watkins. She was united in marriage to Robert Guy Staley II.
She had worked for Gladys Sutton’s Beauty Shop out of high school and My Fair Lady hair salon before starting her own beauty shop in her home. Dee Ann was an animal lover, and you could always count on her to take in an animal in need. She worked helping to build up the Flora Veterinary Clinic and could often be found caring for the animals, helping to give shots, and assisting with spay and neutering. Dee Ann loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with them.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Staley II of Clay City; a grandson: Robert Guy Staley IV of Xenia; a stepdaughter: Malea (Steve) Bryan of Noble; a brother: Lee (Karen) Watkins of Flora; and 2 step-grandchildren: Jalen and Kensle Bryan both of Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son: Robert Guy Staley III.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. A committal ceremony and interment will take place in Clay City Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery on Saturday. My dear friend. Never though this day would come. We had not seen each other lately.I have been thing of you. You were my best friend thru school. All the time we played together as children. I stayed at your mom and dad's house and you would stay over night at our house even though we were 1 house apart. My best friend your are home. Diana
