Florence Alice “Dottie” Dunlap, age 94, formerly of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Monday night, September 11, 2023, at Aperion Care in Fairfield.
She was born October 10, 1928, in Keith Township, Wayne County, Illinois, the daughter of John George and Eliza Jane (Graham) Wright.
Dottie was previously married to William “Bill” C. Dunlap on February 19, 1956, in O’Fallon.
She had worked at International Shoe Company in Flora and Olney for 15 years, and Rexham for another 15 years. She was a past member of the Rebekahs, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary, and Clay County Hospital Auxiliary. Dottie had been affiliated with the Bethel EUB Methodist Church. She enjoyed time spent fishing and playing bingo.
She is survived by nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Linda Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters, Grace Settles, Melverna Beasley, Opal Wells, Hazel Settles, and Beulah Stine; 3 brothers, George A. Wright, as well as 2 infant brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Will miss your laughter and stories of you and my mom tormenting my uncles. You had such a zest for life, loved being with people and fishing with Toots and granny. I'm sure you'll all be around a pond in heaven! Love you and will miss you!

I am so sorry. Dot was such a fun person...I remember her working with mom at sunbeam and I enjoyed her when I worked at Herriage. She was so sweet.

She was one of my mom's best friends. I grew up with her and have very fond memories. I am so heart broken to hear the loss of this wonderful lady. Love and prayers to her family.
So sorry for your loss! I knew Dot years ago when I was a teenager and we would go to Floyd and Opal’s on a Sunday afternoon. She was such a sweet lady. I’m a daughter of Roy and Wilma Sharp of Clay City.
