Bobbie Eugene Slover, age 74, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2024, at his home.
He was born December 5, 1949, in Flora, the son of Lloyd L. and Nola Jaunita (Martin) Slover. He was united in marriage to Sandra F. Burgess on July 12, 1968, in Wayne County, and together they have shared 56 wedding anniversaries.
Bobbie had worked at Southwire in Flora, Rockwell in Centralia, and was an area farmer. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time with his dog, Rowdy.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra Slover of Xenia; 2 daughters: Tonia Slover of Flora and Heather Slover of Flora; 4 grandchildren: Nick (Chelsea) Burgess of Troy, Laci Burgess of Lebanon, Chase Kanitz of Flora, and Maci Kanitz of Flora; 4 great-grandchildren: Abram, Cohen, Kody, and Rylee Burgess; brother: Ronnie L. Slover of Centralia; 3 sisters-in-law: Linda (Bill) McKinney, Peggy (Charles) Skaj, and Marsha (Tom) Heiple; brother-in-law: Rick (Kelly) Burgess; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Larry Slover and Stanley Slover.

To the Slover Family: I know that most of you don't know me but I am Marilyn (Shehorn) Tarbutton the daughter of Lawrence Shehorn. I grew up in Southern Illinois north of Keenes 8 miles. The Slovers were good friends of ours over the years. So sorry to hear that Bobbie has passed away. Remember the good times you had with him over the years as the memories are so precious.
